Berlin is arguably Europe’s hippest city – a dynamic, multicultural metropolis where the emphasis is on creativity and expression. This city has been on the rise architecturally, economically and socially since 1989. Cultural offerings include a thriving contemporary art and music scene, world class museums and world renowned orchestras, opera houses and theaters. Summer students take up to 6 semester credits while academic year, fall and spring semester students take up to 15 semester credits from a large array of subjects at Freie Universität Berlin, including German language (no previous German language study is required). An Internship program is also offered for summer students at Freie Universität Berlin! Another program offered for summer and January (winter) term allows students to earn up to 6 semester credits from a number of courses offered at Humboldt University, Berlin's oldest university, including classes in German language, history and culture. Social and cultural activities and sightseeing around Berlin are included in all programs. Depending on the academic term, travel excursions may include a trip to Potsdam; Prague, Czech Republic; London, England; Dresden; or a week-long European city tour. Select from a wide range of courses from business to economics and political science to sociology, studying at DEREE - The American College of Greece in Athens. Your student apartment, built to house the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team, is located a short walk from campus. Depending on the academic term you select, numerous social and cultural activities may include day trips to Delphi and the Sanctuary of Apollo; the Island of Hydra; or Nafplio and Palamidi Castle.
