At CIS, full degree-seeking students are required to complete internships which has led us to develop a vast network of more than 100 prestigious national and multinational businesses and corporations. The internship program takes advantage of our already well developed relations with companies, allowing students to enhance their CV through valuable international work experience. They also gain confidence working in a different language and cultural environment and increases their integration into Spanish society. Students will receive credits for the internship depending on the hours performed and also have the opportunity to take a Spanish class and/or the “Introduction to Spain” course for credit.
All three Associate Degree programs (Business, Communication, & Liberal Arts) consist of 67 credits (2 years), which they can use to transfer to any American University in the world to finish their Bachelor Degree in a variety of specializations (majors & minors). The program is accredited by Endicott College, Beverly Massachusetts, a small liberal arts college which enrolls more than 2,400 students a year. CIS prepares students for an American education and allows them to try our different subjects before choosing their degree (major/minor). The primary language of instruction is English with select courses taught in Spanish. The average class size is 15 students which allows our faculty to spend more personalized time with our students. Students are required to preform an internship at one of the national or international companies from our vast network during one semester. This gives them the opportunity to acquire experience and start building their professional career.
CIS Madrid Study Abroad Program allows students to tailor their academic and cultural experiences to realize their goals. It offers a wide variety of courses, especially in Spanish, Business, Liberal Arts and Communication. CIS also has a very strong internship program, working with some of the best national and international companies, which students are encouraged to take advantage of as well as volunteering opportunities. The programs are focused on integrating students into the Spanish cultural through weekly cultural activities, excursions around Spain, housing in host families, tandems, sports and orientation. At CIS, students take classes with Spanish students as well as students from all over the world. Academic credit is awarded by Endicott College and courses are offered in English and Spanish in English, Communication, Business, Economics, History, International Relations, Mathematics, Computer Science, Spanish Language and Culture, Marketing, and General Requirements. All study abroad students will take "A Cultural Introduction to Spain" which includes 6 excursions: Segovia, Toledo, El Escorial, Alcalá de Henares, Sevilla + Córdoba, and Valencia + Cuenca.
